I know many of you have been waiting, pining even, for our AGM. Full of excitement, drama and intrigue, it is pretty much like attending the opening night of a Hollywood blockbuster, the Super Bowl, and a Canada vs. USA Olympic Gold Medal game all in one!! People are hounding me at all hours of the day, begging, pleading to know when the AGM will be for 2019, hoping for the smallest scrap of insight or inkling of when their dreams will finally be realized. Texting, social media, door hangers.....it has been unrelenting.
I can proudly announce to those weary of anticipating, that we now have a date!
April 28, 2019 we will hold the event you have all been waiting for!
More details will emerge in the coming weeks, so really this is the gift that keeps giving. Some other items you can look forward to:
1. The report of the nominating committee - I wasn't supposed to say this, but it was ghost written by John Grisham. You know it will be full of suspense, and a lawyer that studied at Tulane.
2. Minutes of the 2018 AGM - This page turner will have you going for, well, likely 2 pages, maybe 3. But they will be the most intense 3 pages you have ever encountered. Make sure to hydrate while you read. We don't want anyone going down here folks.
3. The 2019 budget - I can't promise that our workers won't be locked out until this matter is settled with our steely eyed Leadership Team and their deft negotiation skills. Who could possibly predict which direction this will go? We can promise it will go right to the wire!!

*****Please note, that we will be voting our our new bylaws. This process has been ongoing for about 2 years. At our AGM in 2018 we were unable to vote on the new bylaws as at the last moment we found a clause that would have tied our network to undertake a full audit (at a cost of about $15,000-$20,000 per year) in our bylaws. This clause was a mandated clause from the Canadian Pacific District, and we have worked with them to remove that clause so we can have a Notice to Reader performed instead. A few other minor changes have been added at the request of the District over the past year based on their review of other bylaws from other churches in our District. I will post the new bylaws that have been approved by our CHC Board on our website where our documents are. If you would like a full tour of the bylaws, please contact Scott directly.
